Dark and Desirable - M/F

A little snippet I wrote for the Erotic Romance Writer's Forum's Dark and Desirable contest.

The only thing she could see of him in the darkness of the room were his eyes. They shined an odd yellowish green color just a few feet from where she stood. His breathing the only sound she could hear, his panting breaths slowing with each moment that passed. She had known him for years, had wanted just as long, but she’s never known this side of him before. He hadn’t allowed her to see it.

She stepped closer, no fear within her as she began to see the outline of his form. Hair covering from head to toe, the light of the moon glistening off his fangs. She stopped just inches in front of him, gasping when his hand lifted. The first time fear entering her since she had followed him into this room. Her heart stopped for a moment.

Would he rip her to shreds with his claws? She stood there waiting for him to move and she let out the breath she hadn’t realized she had been holding when his hand rested on her cheek for just a moment before he turned and ran from the room. She still wanted him, not like this, but she wanted the man she knew lie just underneath the surface. That would never change.
